I cook for a living. That means I work every Friday, every Saturday and most Sundays, I finish somewhere around midnight, and my weekend is Monday and Tuesday when the rest of this city is at a desk.
The one arrangement I have had ended over exactly that. Nine months, everybody liked everybody, and we managed about one evening a month because their free time and mine barely overlapped. It faded rather than ended, which is somehow worse.
Twenty nine, the west end, four years in this.
So this is a post for a specific situation. A couple with a free weekday, or their own strange hours, or a wife who can do an afternoon. If your free time is a Saturday night, I am genuinely no use to you and I would rather say so than waste six weeks finding out together.
I share a place with two others, so I cannot host, which I know is the wrong answer twice over.
Not looking for anyone who tells me we will make it work, because that sentence has cost me nine months already. Not looking for anything late in the evening on a work night, since I am dead on my feet. Not looking for a couple who need somebody available in December, which is the month I disappear entirely.
