I am settled about this and he is the one who got nervous later
Looking for somebody who will take my husband's pace seriously
For the first two years I was the anxious one and he was completely calm. Somewhere in the third year that swapped, and now I am settled about all of it and he is the one who gets quiet for a day afterwards.
Neither of us saw that coming. What seems to have happened is that I got used to it and he got closer to it, and the version in his head stopped being an idea and started being a real person with a name who my week is organised around. He is not asking to stop. He is asking to go slower, and I have agreed, and I am writing that down because it explains why we move at the pace we do.
Thirty eight, downtown, married eleven years, four of them like this.
What I need from anybody answering is that he is not treated as the settled part of this. He is the one whose pace matters at the moment. Ask him things. Take a hesitation as real.
We cannot host. Building, desk, camera, the usual.
Not looking for anyone who will assume the husband is fine because he agreed once. Not looking for anyone who wants me to overrule him. Not looking for anything fast, which is the whole point of the post.
Before the first drink Replying goes through the connected platform, so nothing about you is shared until you decide to share it. Take contact slowly and keep identifying details back until trust is earned. Meet somewhere public the first time, with your own way home from it, and if you are a couple then go together. Tell someone outside it where you are going. Never send money to someone you have not met. And if a post or a reply reads wrong, flag it rather than talking yourself out of the feeling.
