My time in this country has an end date and I would rather say so first
Looking for a couple who can work with something that has a finish line
There is a date, it is a bit under two years away, and after it I am probably not in this country. I put that at the very top because I once reached month five of something lovely before it came up, and watching two people recalculate everything inside a single conversation was worse than any refusal I have had since.
Twenty nine, the inner city, here for work. One arrangement of a few months that ended precisely because of the above. They were right to end it and I would have made the same decision in their position.
In defence of a finite thing: everyone here talks about wanting something long, and long is not the only kind of good. Two years is not nothing. It is longer than most of what actually gets described on this board. And there is a particular ease to something everybody knows has an ending, in that nobody is quietly hoping for a different shape later on.
The other side of it is that I have no family here, no history in this city and almost no social overlap with anybody, which for a lot of you is the entire problem solved in one sentence. I know nobody's colleague. I will not be turning up at somebody's cousin's wedding.
Not looking for a couple who want to see whether it might work out longer, because it will not, and I would rather not be the man who let that hope run.
Before the first drink Replying goes through the connected platform, so nothing about you is shared until you decide to share it. Take contact slowly and keep identifying details back until trust is earned. Meet somewhere public the first time, with your own way home from it, and if you are a couple then go together. Tell someone outside it where you are going. Never send money to someone you have not met. And if a post or a reply reads wrong, flag it rather than talking yourself out of the feeling.
