Being wanted out loud, at thirty eight, by somebody who had to say it
Looking for somebody who is not embarrassed to say what he thinks
The thing I found in this was not what I went looking for. It was that a man had to say out loud, in words, that he wanted to see me again, because there was no other mechanism for it. No shared house, no assumed Saturday, no fifteen years of it going without saying. He had to construct the sentence and then say it, and I had not heard anything like that since my twenties.
Thirty eight, Salford, married eleven years, two of them like this. My husband loves me and shows it in about forty ways a week, none of which is that, and I hold none of it against him. It is what a long marriage does to language.
That is the whole of what I get out of this. Not variety. Not an adventure. Being asked for, in a sentence, by somebody who had to build the sentence first.
I say it in the post because it tells you what will and will not work with me. A man who writes the way people write on here, all logistics and terms and availability, cannot give me the thing I am here for, even if everything else about him is right. And a man who lays it on thickly and generically is worse, because I can hear that it is a routine.
What I want is one person, seen every few weeks, who says what he means and is not embarrassed by it. My husband knows all of this, including this paragraph, because he read the post before it went up.
Before the first drink Replying goes through the connected platform, so nothing about you is shared until you decide to share it. Take contact slowly and keep identifying details back until trust is earned. Meet somewhere public the first time, with your own way home from it, and if you are a couple then go together. Tell someone outside it where you are going. Never send money to someone you have not met. And if a post or a reply reads wrong, flag it rather than talking yourself out of the feeling.
