New to the city, new to this, and wrong about the geography twice
Looking for a couple who will forgive somebody still learning the map
I moved here in January for work and knew nobody. I have never done any of this before and I have already made the same mistake twice, which is agreeing to a meeting somewhere that turned out to be an hour and forty minutes away at the time of day I said I would be there.
Twenty nine, the Westside, no experience at all, six months of reading and two conversations that did not lead anywhere. I am going to be honest about what I am rather than dress it up. I am new, I am still working out how this city fits together, and I do not have a history anybody could check. What I do have is time, no complications of my own, and a genuine willingness to be told how a couple wants things done rather than assuming.
I share a place, so I cannot host, which I know is the wrong answer in this city where most people can.
What I would like is a couple who are patient, who will meet a few times with nothing attached, and who will say plainly when I have got something wrong.
Not looking for anyone who wants to be my education in a way that makes me somebody's project. Not looking to be somebody's first either, since two people new to each other is a lot. Not looking for anything to happen quickly.
Before the first drink Replying goes through the connected platform, so nothing about you is shared until you decide to share it. Take contact slowly and keep identifying details back until trust is earned. Meet somewhere public the first time, with your own way home from it, and if you are a couple then go together. Tell someone outside it where you are going. Never send money to someone you have not met. And if a post or a reply reads wrong, flag it rather than talking yourself out of the feeling.
