Two of us in one room in a four bedroom flat, sharing a kitchen with three other adults who are lovely and who are always there. That is our life and it will be our life for at least another year, so anyone reading this can skip to the practical question straight away.
Twenty eight and thirty, the east, open about eighteen months. Everything so far has happened in public, which means drinks, dinners and one very long walk. That has been enough to work out that we are not making a mistake and not nearly enough to work out anything else.
He is not in the room and is not going to be. He wants to know afterwards, in detail, and he is much better at hearing it than he expected to be.
We know how this reads next to the couples on here with houses. We are young, we are broke, and we have nothing to offer in the way of logistics. What we do have is time, no responsibilities beyond ourselves, and the ability to be free at short notice, which nobody else seems to be.
Not looking for anyone who assumes our age means we do not know what we want. Not looking for anyone who thinks the arrangement is a phase we are trying out before settling into a proper marriage, which somebody said kindly and which ended the conversation.
