Questions about the Steelheart

I have a couple of questions regarding the steelheart. First, for those who chose the original steelheart instead of the steelheart 2. Why did you go with the more closed model? It seems like version 2 should be cleaner because it has more holes. Also, peeing in the original looks like it could get messy. Does any urine stay trapped inside the cage and drip out later? Second, I need help figuring out the sizing. I’m confused about how to measure total length. Is that just the cage length? Does the ring count towards that measurement too? If my MM measurements are: Main ring 1.5 in (select 38 mm) Internal diameter 1 1/8 in (select 29 mm) Cage length 2 in (roughly 50 mm). How do I work out the total length? Thanks!
