Chains and Keys

My spouse mentioned this discussion because she knows I’d be keen on a swap her friends had recently. Do you recall Betty? She appeared on Saturday and we all chatted with her after someone spotted the key hanging from a chain around her neck. The first lady said, “Oh look, she’s wearing a key!” The second one replied, “Cool. That’s really popular these days. Very stylish. Did your husband provide it for you?” Betty answered, “It opens the barn at my folks’ place.” I wish I could have heard more of that conversation and what they were thinking (likely not about chastity, but it isn’t entirely out of reach). My partner has been reluctant to wear my key because she’s worried others might ask her similar questions. So I told her, “Your parents ought to get themselves a barn.”
