Turning a Budget Cage into a High-Quality One Through Custom Modifications

If you’re like me and don’t have hundreds of dollars to spend on a custom-made unit, I might just have the solution for you. It offers top-tier security, practicality, and comfort without breaking the bank or requiring much effort.

Like many others, I started with the CB6000. It was cool at first, but eventually, the ache behind my scrotum limited how long I could wear it. Then there were issues: side openings irritating protruding skin, broken rings, and cracked tubes. Not to mention the smell problems and the difficulty of peeing while standing.

I switched to the Birdlocked. Once you get used to it, it’s comfortable, but the odor and urination issues remained. It does let you squeeze and stimulate yourself, making escape and re-insertion easy. However, my Key Husband (KH) wife wasn’t fond of her inability to remove just the cage while leaving the ring on, since the ring is integrated into the unit.

My KH and I both wanted a device that prevented me from accessing that specific spot under the glans where I could relieve myself. She also preferred minimal exposure of my penis so she could limit sensation as much as possible, ensuring security comparable to base-ring devices while meeting our other needs. My main worry was always urination.

For her, any device exposing the penis to touch wasn’t ideal. Her perfect match would be a Steelheart with some tweaks and additions.

This led us to try the Jailhouse steel cage. I picked one up cheaply on Amazon. The feel of the unit won me over, and my wife liked how it looked. Unfortunately, issues arose quickly. This is currently what I’m wearing and will continue to wear for a while. Here’s how I modified this device into something incredible—not perfect, but very good. My KH and I are thrilled.

I tinker in my workshop frequently, so modifying one of these takes just a few hours. I went through two prototypes until I got it right. It took some time to figure out the adjustments, using mostly simple tools so others could replicate them. Attached are photos of one prototype and what I’m wearing now. It looks like a winner and performs like one too. Best of all for me: I can pee normally.

The Problems:

1. The rings are welded at their inner bottoms, creating tight spaces with rough spots. After over a week in it, the underside of my penis developed sores and accumulated dirt there.
2. At the top head area, a bar runs from the roof down to the center hole, blocking the pee slit. This makes proper urination difficult, rendering the “pee hole” almost useless.
3. The bottom part of the glans fits into the tip of the cage, allowing that sensitive spot to be touched or licked for orgasm.
4. It’s too long for my penis when soft, causing painful erections inside. This likely affects most guys in chastity using “Off-the-Shelf” devices.
5. Escaping and re-inserting is relatively easy.

Cage Fixes: I compressed the rings closer together to shorten the tube length, fitting my penis better. I cut out the bar from the top of the tube down to the center pee hole and filed it smooth. Now I can pee anywhere, anytime, easily—as if not wearing a cage at all. I filled the spaces between the inner rings with JB Weld to create a solid tube structure. This solved the rough weld issues and prevented dirt buildup in those crevices. I filled in the gaps of the four bottom triangles on the cage tip to block access to that sweet spot. It’s very easy to keep clean using foam swabs, enabling comfortable long-term wear with no smells (except for the A&D ointment I use around the base ring). Stimulation is now impossible. Since Jailhouse cages are steel, the small amount of JB Weld doesn’t add noticeable weight. The look isn’t obvious when wearing pants. Most importantly, I designed an effective anti-pullout mechanism. The key to this setup is that anti-pullout device visible in the pictures. The one shown is a rough, unfinished PVC prototype but works well. I might try ABS plastic later. It serves several purposes:

1. It keeps your glans positioned firmly at all times (hard or soft), making urination easier and reducing erection pain, especially nocturnal ones. In the attached pic, I am completely flaccid, yet the anti-pullout holds my head against the cage tip.
2. Pulling out is very difficult (though not impossible), but getting back in with this specific prototype is nearly impossible.
3. It allows for a comfortable ring size, making long-term wear easy. No more need to downsize rings just for security if it causes unbearable erections.

I have a newer modified PVC anti-pullout currently installed in my active cage, so I can’t photograph that specific one right now. I also tried an aluminum version which seemed good initially, but my skin reacted over time, so I went back to PVC. You can get out if you really want to, but the pain makes it not worth it for casual escape. Having experienced enough pain during those attempts, I won’t do it just to prove a point. On the upside, once in, you stay in—at least that’s been my experience.
