Mature Metal Jailbird Adjustment Inquiry

I’ve been wearing my Mature Metal Jailbird since November 2010. It’s so comfortable that I often forget it’s there… Such a cool piece of “jewelry” …and my Wife adores it. Here is my question: I purchased mine with the standard 3/8 gap. For over a year, I’ve worn it without any significant night pains. Should I send it back for a “Tune Up” and have that gap reduced to 1/4”? It fits well enough currently, but I believe I could manage a tighter fit. Is sending it back to MM worth the effort for such a minor adjustment?
