We are in the 905 and we will say so before you waste an evening
Looking for somebody honest about whether the drive is realistic in February
We are out in the 905. We put that first because two arrangements have died over it and both times we found out in month four rather than week one.
The pattern does not vary. Somebody downtown decides the drive is fine, does it four or five times, and then the weather turns and a fifty minute trip becomes ninety and everything becomes a Saturday. We do not blame anybody for it. We do think it is worth being honest about at the start, because the alternative is watching something good become a scheduling argument.
Forty two and forty five, married sixteen years, four of them open. She dates. He knows everything, hears about it afterwards, and does not attend past the first meeting.
The compensation is that we can host properly. A house, a driveway, a spare room, and neighbours who mind their own business. Nobody is logged at a desk and there is no elevator.
What we want is one person, regularly, over a long time, ideally somebody who is also out this way or who genuinely does not mind the highway in January.
Not looking for anyone who says distance is not an issue before he has done it in the dark. Not looking for anyone who wants us to come downtown every time, because occasionally yes and mostly no. Not looking to have this conversation for a third time in month four.
Before the first drink Replying goes through the connected platform, so nothing about you is shared until you decide to share it. Take contact slowly and keep identifying details back until trust is earned. Meet somewhere public the first time, with your own way home from it, and if you are a couple then go together. Tell someone outside it where you are going. Never send money to someone you have not met. And if a post or a reply reads wrong, flag it rather than talking yourself out of the feeling.
Before you answer a post like this
Two people wrote this together, and both of them have to say yes to you. These are the three written for the man on the other end of it.
- What makes a single man read as safe
- Vetting a couple: the screening men skip
- The first meeting: a drink, all three of you
