I’ve been new to the forum and have really enjoyed reading through the archives, but I think it’s time I stopped lurking.

I noticed a recent post linking to the DL2K site. Now, I’m NOT doing that one. Since discovering this community recently, I’ve been hunting for sites frequented by DL2K users that stand independent of the manufacturer itself. I’d love to hear honest, unfiltered opinions and experiences.

I kept up with the developer’s blog regularly as he struggled to bring the product to market and get it approved for sale, all while wondering (like many others) “what will this thing COST?” Well, it finally became a reality, but the price pushed it beyond my discretionary funds. Roughly $1500 was quite a steep price for a sex toy. However, the amount of functions and detail packed into it hooked me immediately on the gadget side. I was obsessed.

My wife had told me I could order it if I found a way to pay without impacting the family’s finances. It took me three months, but I managed it. I hoped to surprise her with it, as we’d discussed it extensively during its development phase, but the FedEx package arrived when she was home and I wasn’t. She called and asked, “do you have something to tell me?” She was actually excited to try it too, though a bit apprehensive. Funny enough, it wasn’t going to be shocking HER out of her mind; she cares about my best interest.

I should probably start by explaining that we aren’t full-time lifestylers when it comes to chastity. We practice occasionally. I don’t wear the device consistently. The longest period without an orgasm has been two weeks for me. I find it a fun activity, and yes, sex is more enjoyable when you’re horny.

When we engage in chastity play, I operate on the honor system during weekdays, which I respect. Sometimes (usually after the first couple of days), I wear a CB after the kids go to bed since she goes to sleep before me. This provides excitement and limits temptation to cheat. However, once my morning shower is done, I’m out. Except on weekends. She greatly enjoys the dramatically increased productivity from me during that time. I actually get a lot of satisfaction from the increased focus and discipline as well.

I trust my wife implicitly, but I’m not really a submissive; I’m a switch with dominant tendencies. Essentially, I am training her dominant side by topping from below. I don’t wish to be sissified, nor does she want me to be, but I do appreciate a strong woman, and this dynamic gives her an opportunity to practice that role. I don’t mind seeing her with another man, nor does she feel the need to be with one genuinely relate to the psyche of the chastity lifestyle, and I respect it, but for us, it’s not quite a full-time thing.

Back to the point.

I got the DL2K. It is stunning in its presentation. The remote is tiny and boasts smart safety features. The USB stick allows operation by ANY internet-enabled device from anywhere in the world. My wife can call, ask how the laundry is coming along, and zap me while driving home. Our personal favorite part is that it has a tiny vibrator/motor allowing her to send numbered commands (morse code) - massage, clean, cook, fetch, etc. She loves being able to demand a massage without even saying it.

Enough raving. On to the problems I encountered.

At first, when I tried wearing the device on, I was unable to get a shock at all. I followed the instructions and it seemed like it should work, but nothing happened. I pushed the button on the remote again - nothing; adjusted the angle of the device to check the lights - OUCH! I’d struck paydirt. It worked. Then it didn’t. Then it did! Then it didn’t. WTF?

I emailed the vendor (who was VERY responsive, less than an hour!) and they said I needed to double-check the installation of the probes. I reseated everything but still had the same problem. Then I realized that when I tilted the device forward, it would work properly. It wasn’t the electrodes on my skin, but the connectors INSIDE the device weren’t getting a proper solid connection. I tightened the screws and it worked PERFECTLY. Later, I got some brass washers to allow for more contact without having to over-tighten the screws.

There are 3 levels of shock. As I describe them: 1.Hi! 2.I said HELLO! and 3.Yo!!! mutherfuka!!! Level 3 hurts if she hits it more than twice in 15 seconds. All of it is essentially immediate pain only. Level 3 stings for a good 5-10 seconds. But the best part is that no matter how many times she does it, it is ALWAYS alarming. She gets a real kick out of making me twitch.

It also has a summon button that fires in rapid succession such that it very effectively makes me move my ass!

The second problem I ran into was the motor (arousal inducer) stopping working reliably. Something went wrong inside the wiring and it became unreliable. This was very sad as the remote instructions were our favorite function.

Again, I contacted the vendor and again he was very responsive. I described the problem and he said I’d probably broken the reinforced connector joint. I didn’t feel like I’d abused it in any way, but I also understood that he had no way to know that without seeing it himself. He offered to sell me a new motor for $35. Considering the unit was $1500, I thought this quite reasonable.

Apparently, the motors are out of production and can no longer be acquired separately. He sent me a new motor & housing (they’re all assembled into one part.) I unscrewed the old housing, put the new one on, and it worked…for about 30 minutes. Then it was like the battery had run out. WTF?

I reconnected the old motor, and it worked OK. I reconnected the new motor, and faced the same problem again, but now the device started rebooting when trying to activate the motor.

I contacted the vendor again. He responded in a few hours and said I would need a new battery that he could sell me ($15) or I could “make” one from the basic battery (sold at any specialty electronics store) by taping the connector to it. I did this, and it worked. For about an hour.

It seemed the new motor had run down the NEW battery. The weirdest part was that it seemed to drain it even without USING the motor actively. What was worse was that the accelerometer was now ALSO not working correctly. So the Penis Slap Amplifier Mode and the Canine Mode no longer worked.

I contacted the vendor again. Responding within a few hours, he said I would need to send it back for inspection. I decided that since I now had a replacement motor installed, I didn’t have anything to lose by cutting the silicone sheath off the original motor. When I did this, I discovered that I hadn’t “broken” the part he was talking about at all; rather, the wires INSIDE the vinyl coatings had broken from moving about and being tugged on.

I went ahead and stripped and re-soldered the connections. The old motor worked GREAT again, but now with the silicone coating off, the motor would not be waterproof. I used some duct-tape to cover the device, and it worked fine, but after another day of use, the part that attaches the DL2K to the posts of the CB6K managed to tear and break. Thankfully this is part of the lower housing (the replacement part he’d sent), so the new one could replace it.

I went ahead and mailed off the device to be inspected and repaired since the accelerometer still didn’t work right.

There was a little bit of a delay as he had to move to another address, so I waited until he had settled into his new place. He received it, informed me of his findings and raised some concerns. There were conditions of the device that I admitted caused and others that were ‘like that’ when it arrived.

He told me the motor was weak due to a poor connection on the board. This didn’t make sense since a poor connection shouldn’t ever run down the battery so quickly. He asked if I’d prefer a replacement instead, since this specific motor was weaker than average (apparently they vary a bit.)

I opted for the replacement and he said he’d have to order one from his warehouse.

I waited about a week for him to get the part and ship it out. It should be here Monday.

I’ll hold off until it comes back. It’s been the top sex toy my wife and I have ever used, even though our list of tried-and-tested devices isn’t exactly short…we just haven’t given a TENS unit a go yet.

It might sound like a bit of a tale about handling a supplier (not the most thrilling part), but because this device is so distinct and produced in limited numbers, I get how small companies launching new products face different challenges than giants like Sony pushing out 5 million units of an electronic gadget. So I’d love to know if anyone else has used it and what they think.
