A common issue with the CB series is the clicking sound and the extra thickness caused by the padlock. This stands out most in the CB6000 models, where the lock rests directly on top of the cage’s head.
When I bought my pair from Love Up Love, I chose their reusable plastic version. It features an internal screw inside the barrel assembly that passes through a hole in the central pin. The handle screws it tight and then unclips so your KH can hold onto it, making it impossible to accidentally unscrew. You just need to use one size larger than usual for the pin (keeping the standard spacer) to accommodate the thicker barrel.
This setup is secure, light, and eliminates both the noise and the weight of a traditional padlock. I highly recommend it. The only drawback is that the handle is quite small, so there’s a higher chance your KH might lose it…
