I’d love to hear from others who are currently locked up about how swapping out devices impacts comfort and the practicality of wearing one constantly. Right now, I’m using a non-custom stainless steel device that feels quite good (it’s gotten to the point where I occasionally forget it’s there). The ring is maybe slightly loose, and the cage might be a bit long, but overall it’s comfortable and functional. Current fit: Currently, when I am shriveled or extra flaccid, there seems to be about 1 - 1.5 inches of space between the tip of my penis and the end of the cage. This drops down to around .5-1 inch at a normal state. During a strong erection, I fill up the cage before it pulls away from me as expected. Girth can sometimes make insertion tricky; even when totally flaccid, I often bunch against the metal bars. It takes some routine adjustment to slide the skin down the shaft into its relaxed position, and after a few days, I start noticing slightly patchy dry skin. Basically, it fits more snugly across than lengthwise. Arousal makes the penile flesh bulge through the cage bars. My base ring is likely just a bit loose. It separates from my body fairly easily, but remains comfortable, and since I have an arrangement that keeps it pressed against me for both day and night wear, this isn’t really an issue. What I’m looking for input on: My wife and I plan to experiment with different fittings. I’m here hoping to gather some advice on how various constraints affect comfort—particularly regarding arousal while inside the cage. I figure that a shorter cage (one matching my total flaccid length exactly) would just cause the device to pull away from me sooner during arousal because there’s less room to expand. Would a shorter cage actually improve erection inhibition? If it only pulls away earlier, I don’t see much mechanical benefit in shortening it (though feeling snug is nice). A slightly thinner cage: My guess with this option is that it could help—perhaps inhibiting erections better by restricting blood flow into the main shaft more easily. It might also grip the skin tighter, reducing shifting between the skin and cage, which would presumably keep the skin in place (avoiding bunching). A smaller ring: This is the big question for me since my current ring is comfortable but tends to drift away from my body. I assume a smaller ring will help here too. Will it assist with erection inhibition? Is there an “ideal size” that stops erections, or is that a rare find? And does such a ring exist that won’t pull away so easily? Overall though—my device seems to be doing well. Is it worth chasing a ‘better’ or optimal fit? Or do most people end up wasting effort because the perfect fit really doesn’t exist? By optimal, I mean a cage with minimal irritating side effects, stops most or all erections, causes no discomfort during daily activities, and very little trouble at night. Does something like that actually exist in reality? Thanks so much in advance. Oh, and just to save you asking later: I won’t be posting visual aids for the fitting.
