Is negotiating fair game in marriage?

Lately my wife brought me a massive request. It’s going to require quite a bit of time and cash. During our chat, she mentioned I could ask for something big back in return. So I suggested that chastity become much more central to how we relate—something we both work toward together rather than just her doing it for me. Maybe my phrasing isn’t perfect. Who knows? But the goal was to make it matter more to her too. There you go.

So… does this kind of negotiation work? Is it wise? I welcome all thoughts and opinions.
