Seeking a plastic/resin substitute for the Jailbird

I adore my Jailbird, but it’s not ideal for flying. My job demands more air travel over the coming year, so I need a substitute that can get me through airport security. Since this is work-related travel, my wife (who holds the key) won’t be accompanying me.

I’ve dropped about 15 pounds recently and have roughly another 10 to reach my goal. My base ring has become too loose because I didn’t realize my testicles had shrunk! Haha

So, this plastic/resin device can stay on while I send my MMJB back for a smaller base ring fitting, and it’s suitable for travel as well. My wife insists that I remain locked whenever the Jailbird is away.

Leaving via flight isn’t complicated—I can self-lock after clearing security. However, she doesn’t want me to go unlocked for the entire trip (which could last from a few days to several weeks) and forbids me from carrying a key to unlock myself before we return.

I KNOW there are countless devices available, but I thought leveraging my experience here would help narrow down options if I share what measurements I need. It doesn’t have to be an exact match, though closer is better for comfort. I’ve spent hours browsing and haven’t found much that fits well yet. Most cages seem either too wide or ridiculously small; nothing in between.

The Whole-Body Imagers that TSA has adopted will detect it regardless of whether it’s plastic or metal. The walk-through metal detectors are less likely to beep as long as your lock or tumbler is the only extra piece of hardware on you. During a resolution pat-down, there's about a 75% chance the screener spots it too. You'll need to explain what it is, but honestly, it won’t always be caught at every checkpoint; it happens occasionally. Unless you’re departing from very small airports where they might find it unusual. It will likely be slightly embarrassing for both of you, but shouldn't cause major issues.
