Security metal detector

Had an awkward moment at a gathering tonight. I hadn’t realized the venue was inside a federal building, and my wonderful partner had me locked up while also skipping this event herself. Just as I reached the checkpoint where they were scanning everyone with wands for entry, it hit me: let’s hope the operator wasn’t too focused on his duties to notice the stainless steel cage around me. My initial reaction was a mental ‘What?’, but then I thought, lucky break—I avoided what could have been quite humiliating. My lovely wife found both my luck and the situation hilarious.
