Concert Security Checks and the Key Question

My wonderful Lady and I attended a performance last evening. About ten minutes out from the place, we noticed we didn’t have our key—obviously, I ended up locked inside. I was anxious about triggering the metal detectors. The security guard used a handheld wand; as he moved it over my crotch area, I was perspiring heavily, expecting the device to beep because of my Jailbird. Surprisingly, it stayed quiet for some reason. That’s something I appreciate. Has anyone else managed to get through without setting off the metal detectors before?
