Ball Burn Issues?

Hi everyone. I know the gap size has been talked about a lot when people are first trying to pick the right fit initially. But what I’m really wondering is if anyone else shares my specific problem. My Jailbird measures 1 3/4” in length, with an internal diameter of 1 3/8”, and its base ring sits at 1 5/8”—just for context. I’ve managed to wear this setup continuously for up to seven days without any trouble. The catch is that when I remove it overnight or even just for a few hours during the day, those first couple of hours after putting it back on bring back a ball burn sensation. Is this considered normal?
