Why are chastity cages such an unknown phenomenon?

I only discovered the chastity cage about four months ago, quite by chance. I was Googling around for quotes to put together for a get-together we were hosting that Friday night (we regularly meet at someone’s house to talk over some spiritual topic or another, and this week it happened to be chastity). Suddenly I spotted the word chastity paired with belt. I clicked through and read on. Then I found the cage. It was a surprise to learn they actually existed. And that is how our journey began. So why are they so little known?
