CB-6000 Fitting Issues: Am I a Sissy or Is There a Real Problem?

I picked up the CB-6000 to test out long-term chastity with my Wife, but I’m hitting a few snags. First off, it just refuses to fit no matter how much lubricant or ice packs I use. The only method that works is the “stocking trick,” which makes me look like I’ve been shrink-wrapped in plastic. It’s bearable enough, mostly because it covers about one-third of my flaccid penis. However, when I go to lock it, I have to force the remaining two-thirds upward and hope for the best regarding their placement. This creates what looks like mounds of “penis love handles” spilling out from the sides and bottom around the ring and tube. I don’t want my Wife to think I’m making excuses to avoid wearing it, but honestly, this doesn’t feel quite right. Has anyone else dealt with this? Is it standard for device wearers, or am I worrying too much? It’s not painful or particularly uncomfortable; I just definitely notice it. I tried sleeping in it and had an issue where the penis slipped up into the tube during the night. Since the fit is so tight, there’s no real way to push the head back down without removing the device entirely. Thanks for any tips!
