This is the fourth version of this post. The other three were either too apologetic or read like somebody else wrote them.
We opened up in the spring after a long conversation that I started. That surprised both of us. He is genuinely, obviously into it, which I did not expect and am still getting used to.
I am thirty seven. I have not met anyone yet and the idea makes me nervous in a way I am choosing to enjoy.
What I need is somebody who understands that my husband is part of this. He will be reading. He will be at the first meeting. He is not an inconvenience to work around and if you treat him as one I will stop replying.
Beyond that: patience, discretion, and the ability to have a conversation about nothing for an hour.
Not looking for photographs before I know your first name. Not looking for anyone who wants to meet this week. Not looking to be talked into anything, by anyone, including myself.

Take contact slowly and keep identifying details back until trust is earned. Meet somewhere public the first time, with your own way home from it, and if you are a couple then go together. Tell someone outside it where you are going. Never send money to someone you have not met. And if a post or a reply reads wrong, flag it rather than talking yourself out of the feeling.
