“The Sharing Of Marriage” (humor) An elderly gentleman ordered a single hamburger, fries, and a beverage. He peeled back the wrapper on his plain burger and sliced it down the middle with care, setting one half before his wife. Then he meticulously counted out the fries, splitting them into two equal heaps and arranging one heap neatly for her. He took a sip of his drink; she followed suit, then set their shared cup between them … As he started picking at his burger, onlookers around him turned to whisper. Clearly they were thinking, ‘What a poor old pair - all they can manage is sharing just one meal.’ As the man began devouring his fries, a younger fellow approached the table and courteously offered to pay for another full meal. The elder gentleman replied that no thanks were needed—they simply shared everything as usual. Those seated nearby noticed the tiny lady hadn’t touched her food at all. She sat there observing her husband eat, occasionally taking turns sipping from their cup. The young man returned once more and pleaded with them to accept his offer for another meal. This time, the old woman stated, ‘No thank you, we are accustomed to sharing everything.’ Eventually, as the gentleman finished up and dabbed his face tidily with a napkin, the younger visitor approached the little lady—who still hadn’t had a single bite—and asked, ‘What exactly are you waiting for?’ She replied
