I got my hands on a steelheart several months back and promptly began keeping myself locked up. After a couple of days to break it in, I decided to give staying inside for an entire week a shot. If everything went well during that time, it would confirm the fit was correct and suggest that longer chastity periods were feasible.
My week in the cage was quite pleasant; honestly, it was very comfortable. Aside from occasional pinches and those usual morning wake-up jolts, wearing the device wasn’t a bother at all. Cleaning presented a slight challenge since it is a steelheart after all, but rinsing it out twice daily kept odors under control. Things were looking up.
Once the week ended, I took myself out to clean up and noticed something odd: most of the top surface of my glans had gone numb! There appeared to be some dry skin there, which I figured was just a result of not being able to reach inside easily for cleaning—just part of how the device works. I gave it a rest for about a week, and feeling gradually came back.
I have a 2ga PA, and during that week, the only ring I used covered almost the entire width of the tube. With its 7/8” ID plus the metal thickness (2ga x 2), it sits just under 35mm, which matches the inner diameter of my steelheart. Surprisingly, putting it on and wearing it wasn’t hard, nor was fitting myself into the tube even with that ring in place. However, I suspected that not having enough room for expansion was pressing against my glans and restricting blood flow, leading to the numbness.
A few weeks later, now free of the device, I ordered a new PA captive ring sized at 3/4” ID. It looks and feels much smaller, but realistically, it only offers an extra 1/8” of space in the tube. I tried wearing it again this time checking daily for any sensation loss. By my second check-in (after two days), sure enough, the numbness returned.
So to those using a steelheart or similar enclosed tube device with a PA: how much wider is your tube compared to your jewelry? Have you experienced numbness after wearing it for a while? How much room does your flaccid head have to expand within the tube?
Maybe I should sell this one and buy a new model with a wider tube, but I want to understand better exactly how much space I need to be comfortable.
