JailBird Query

Before I finalize my order, I have one more query for those who wear the MM JailBird. Looking at the JB image on the MM site, it seems the vertical bars are positioned inside while the horizontal ones sit outside. However, in at least one case I’m aware of, someone got their JB with the arrangement flipped: horizontal bars inward and vertical outward. Does this bar placement actually affect comfort? Specifically, during an attempted erection, when the glans hits those end bars, does it matter which way they face regarding discomfort levels?
