We went out for an evening drive to a gathering, and my wife brought up that someone we both know from back in the day had just filed for divorce. The fellow was going through a mid-life crisis; he decided it was time to play around and immediately started seeing other women. My wife found this quite shocking and felt sad for them as they talked about how they might put their marriage back together, perhaps getting him counseling for his trouble. “I really can’t picture what I’d do if you cheated on me. How does one get over something like that?” My daughter was in the car with us, but I REALLY wanted to point out to her that I am caged, so any mid-life crisis of mine would be short-lived and physical cheating isn’t really an option. That’s my sense of humor for you. Yes, I know people can cheat emotionally as well as physically. Do you or your wives find comfort in the marital security provided by chastity? It feels like a hidden benefit to me.
