Assessing the Options for a Cage Lock

When I consider ordering a custom steel cage, it strikes me that Jail Bird and Contender are quite alike regarding how the device connects to the base ring. Both appear to project outward more than my current setup.

I currently use a Chinese-made model with an integral lock. The housing around the lock is rounded off, keeping the body at roughly the same height as the mechanism itself, which creates a fairly seamless profile.

It would be great to hear from anyone who owns either a Jail Bird or Contender regarding whether the locking post causes any issues (I plan to use a security screw if I go with one of these options).
